The proximity of the student housing to classes and the rest of the university facilities makes Shaoyuan #9 an ideal place for a student to live and study. The greatest advantage of living in Shaoyuan is the convenient access to facilities: the gym, track, ping pang tables, cafeterias, movie theater and more. In addition, Peking University is located in the northwestern region of Beijing just outside the fourth ring road in Haidian district. The area has several venues for entertainment, eating, shopping, sights, and activities.

Shaoyuan #7, right in front of Shaoyuan #9 houses some of the most essential services that a student would need: post office, travel agency, convenience store, A-Rated Restaurant, banquet halls, business center with computers and fax machine, and reception area.

Every floor has two laundry units that can be used to wash clothes. The units are Integrated-circuit (IC) card operated. These cards can be purchased at the counter of Shaoyuan #9. In addition, a laundry and dry-cleaning service are closely located. Once you are moved into Shaoyuan, you will not need to register with the local authorities.
